Donya Dickerson
A publishing leader with a track record of editing New York Times
and Wall Street Journal bestsellers.
I've spent over two decades helping authors get published. Currently, I'm a literary agent at Aevitas Creative Management, where I focus primarily on representing prescriptive nonfiction in the categories of business, personal development, self-help, pop culture, science, technology, history, parenting, and more. Prior to joining Aevitas, I was the Associate Publisher for the Business Trade list at McGraw Hill, where I led a team responsible for publishing books by CEOs, highly respected thought leaders, and top industry executives, and built multiple partnerships with global training organizations.
In addition to my agenting work, I provide editorial and consulting services to authors and organizations.

Some of the tremendous names I’ve had the honor to work with include:
-
New York Times bestselling author Joseph Grenny and the team at Crucial Learning
-
New York Times bestselling author Joseph Michelli
-
Jen Fisher and Anh Phillips who cowrote the Wall Street Journal bestseller Work Better Together
-
Susan Brady, Janet Foutty, and Lynn Perry Wooten, whose book Arrive & Thrive was a Wall Street Journal, Publishers Weekly, and USA Today bestseller
-
Joe Pulizzi, the godfather of Content Marketing and bestselling author of Epic Content Marketing and Content, Inc.
-
Global leadership training experts Jack Zenger and Joe Folkman
-
and many more.

I am passionate about helping authors find their audience and get their ideas in front of the people who need them. My strength is helping both individuals and organizations develop the highest quality content—whether it’s a book or a shorter piece—and conceptualize content both in terms of the information they want to teach but also as a way to build their brand as leading thinkers in their fields.
For many of the authors I work with, the book is part of the overall strategic plan for their business and a tool that allows them to scale their business to the next level, speak in front of larger audiences, or achieve other growth goals. I see my role as an author coach throughout every stage, from positioning an idea for the marketplace and developing the highest quality content to ultimately growing an author's global reputation and audience reach.
